Number 27.

I am in a writing mood today.  I've got a bit of homework... and a cello and violin to play, though.  I wish I had a lot more time in the day to do the things I want to do.  It's already six o'clock, and I have to do A.P.U.S.H. and American Literature homework, including the make-up work from when I was absent yesterday.  I should go to bed by at least 10:30.  Homework will take me an hour, at least.  I hate having so much to do and so little time to do it.
I wish it were summer time.  I would have all the time in the world to do what I wanted to do, be it play the cello, the violin, write, blog, read, sleep... spend time with friends.  What am I going to do with myself for the next month and a half?  I'm going to go crazy, that's what.  But I am going to do everything in my power to keep from going crazy.
In literature, we have a new assignment.  When my teacher assigned it, I nearly jump with joy.  We are assigned to do my favorite thing: write.  I am to write a research paper about a person who was influential in American history.  I chose someone I can relate to; a writer and a poet: Maya Angelou.  I went to the library and checked out her book: I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings.  I haven't read all of the book yet; just the excerpts that they include in middle school literature books.  I honestly cannot wait to read and write about Miss Angelou.  I am excited.

Well, I guess it is time for me to get my chores and homework done, and then hopefully obtain some "me time."

Darkness is...

Darkness is cool
Darkness is warm
Darkness is where I can talk
and not really be heard

Darkness is quiet
Darkness is soothing
Darkness is where I can lay for hours
and not be bothered

Darkness is black
Darkness is great
Darkness is where I don't have to worry
and not be stressed out

Darkness is crucial
to me living serenely
Darkness brings out the best in me
so I can live freely

But as much as I like darkness
I know it can't last forever...
soon the sun must shine
and make your smile bright...

I like the darkness
I like the pure white moon and stars
but I also like the sun
and I like the blue skies and green grass

Darkness is serenity.
Lightness is happiness.

Every time I think things are going right, every time I think every thing is finally working out in my favor, things change.  Things get sour.  Nothing ever seems to work out.  I am so ready for just one thing to turn out right. Just one thing.  That's all I'm asking.  I know Number 23 said that I was completely happy and every thing was going right, but no.  Not any more.  Not really.

Sigh.  I need to think about some good things before I go insane.

~My cello is on its way.
~I've a violinist, violist, and cellist for my quartet.
~I've even got a virtual quartet!  Ha.
~I am going to Lake Michigan this weekend.
~My brother's graduation is just around the corner.
~Graduation means family in Michigan!  <--This I am particularly excited about.

But all these exciting things honestly can't distract me from what is really bothering me.  But I'm not ready to share that right now, for I've not the right words.  I cannot formulate my thoughts on the matter at the moment.  I just know that this is making me insane.  I'm tired of being so stressed out over everything.  I just need a long time to lay and wallow in my own sorrowful thoughts until I come up with a solution to all my problems.  But that time is not coming quick enough, with all the other things I have to worry about; like school, A.P.U.S.H., and other things.  I just need all this confusion to go away!  Sigh.

Well.  I've got A.P.U.S.H. reading to do.  Goodbye for now.

A little letter:

Dear Mr. Darcy,
I wish I had someone like you.  Even though you knew it was wrong to fall in love with Elizabeth and did everything in your power to prevent it, you knew that love would get it's way.  True love always gets what it wants.  Even though you did the wrong thing sometimes, like driving a wedge between your best friend Charles and Elizabeth's sister Jane, you recognized that it wasn't the right thing and you made it right between the two lovers.  And then, against what everyone believed in, you went and married Miss Elizabeth.  True love is just that amazing.  I am always looking for my own Mr. Darcy in my life.
Sincerely,
Julia.

Words cannot express how content I am right now.  For the first time in a long time, everything is going right.  I've no conflicting emotions, no mixed signals to worry about... nothing.  I'm so excited for the rest of this year... I've a wonderful feeling that it will progress with ease and be very pleasurable.

When I got home from Chicago, a few things happened that made my night.  For one, I am finally getting the cello I have been asking for since last summer.  Second, I have a date for Saturday night.  -Cheesy grin- hehe.  And tonight, I asked for help in creating a group of accomplished musicians to play quartet (or quintet) music in weddings and other events.  Hoorah!

I am very excited for the months to come.  I just know they will be marvelous and rewarding.

And now for a little relaxation with a good book.

So I am on the road again... in Chicago.  This city is honestly amazing.

My friend Katie invited me to take the trip with her parents for four days.  Yesterday, we went to the art museum, which was fantastic.  Then we went to Navy Pier and rode the ferris wheel.  So high up in the sky... it was awesome.

As we got to the hotel on the outskirts of the city, Katie and I were really happy and in a giggly mood.  We were downstairs looking at the pool and we were headed back upstairs on the elevator.  It is a glass elevator, and the one we were on was facing the seating area in the bar in the hotel.  I was singing a song, and the song was very dance-able.  I began dancing.  As soon as I realized that the elevator was glass, I stopped.  Then I turned around to see a group of people at one table... laughing at me.  Katie said my face was so red... talk about embarrassment.   We ran off the elevator and back to the room.  I was laughing so hard that I collapsed in the hallway, unable to breathe.  When we went back downstairs for a drink, the father of the group of people walked up to me and said "Nice dance." and began laughing.  I laughed too, telling him that I honestly forgot the elevator was glass.  They kept on laughing at me all night.  To be honest, it wasn't so bad.  I'm not into embarrassment... if I fall down to do something stupid like shake my ass in front of a glass window with people behind it, I can laugh at myself instead of hole up and try to pretend like it didn't happen.  Sure, I might turn as red as a tomato, but I will still laugh.  It was a fun night.

Today, we went shopping.  I got a new shirt and a dress and some black and gray checkered vans.  I wanted this really amazing old fashioned dress, but it was so expensive.  I wouldn't have had any money left for food if I had gotten it.  But I fell in love with it the moment I saw it:

It is fantastic.  It looks like something straight out of Pride and Prejudice or the like.  I would love to own it, but I don't make that much money.  Oh well.

Anyway, I've had a lot of words tonight.  I am having a great time in Chicago.  There hasn't been a moment when I wasn't occupied with one thing or another, so I could keep troubling thoughts from my mind.

I think I will be done writing here for this evening... So until next time.

What is there to know about me?  I wouldn't know, because even I don't know all there is to know about me.  How can anyone else know me when I don't even know myself?  This is what I wish for tonight; what I pray that God will grant me: the ability to know myself.  To know what makes me comfortable in my own skin.  To know what it is exactly that I love about some people and dislike about others.  To figure out what kind of person I am and what I am going to do with the rest of my life.  I hope someone or something can show me.  I'd like to say "send me a sign", if that doesn't sound too cliche.  No?  Well, then, send me a sign.  Some way for me to know... to know what it is I am looking for.  I need to know.

And with that (and with it being one in the morning), I think it is time for me to hit the hay.

As always,
Jules, the High School Nomad.
